General Wait List
When Subsidized Programs are open for applications a public notice will run in four local newspapers in English and Spanish. (Denver Post, El Semanario, Denver Weekly and La Voz)
Interested applicants may pick up an interest card at DHA’s Admissions and Occupancy Dept or apply on-line.
Blue Interest Card – Subsidized Housing (all sites)
Yellow Interest Card – Thomas Bean Towers only
Pink Interest Card – 1099 Osage only (non smoking building)
All completed cards must be mailed and postmarked by the US Postal Service. You may submit interests cards for all three waiting lists.
When your name comes to the top of the list you will be notified by letter to pick up a packet of forms that need to be completed. This may take 6-12 months.
Once you complete the packet an interview date and time will be scheduled. At the interview all documents will be reviewed and a credit and criminal background check will be processed.
Once approved your name will be put on a waiting list by bedroom size. As vacancies become available names are taken from the waiting list. Certain factors contribute to the placement of names on the waiting list i.e. date and time of application, annual income. Working family preferences are given to those families who are working, receiving disability and/or elderly.
Applicants are given two offers, if both are refused, applicants are cancelled.
